Princess Collection 4

And yet another Princess Collection for you!  Ariel, Lilo, and two versions of Princess Aurora.  This one may take a little bit of explanation, at least for Aurora.  I wanted to do the regular Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty since that was one that was repeatedly requested.  But my favorite parts of the movie are where the fairies Flora and Meriweather were fighting over which color Aurora's birthday dress was going to be -- pink or blue.  So I did that dress, too!  That lovey takes a bit more experience so I wouldn't start with her if you are a newbie to crochet.  Hey, we all have to start learning somewhere, right?  I get that...I just don't want you to get so frustrated with her dress that you decide crochet is not for you!  I promise, with a little practice, she'll come together.

And Lilo...well, right after I got done with Collection 3, I found a 20in Lilo stuffed doll at a thrift store.  I have a huge collection myself of Disney plush...most, but not all (yet!), of the Disney movies are represented.  In all honesty, I've never even seen Lilo & Stitch, but the stuffed doll was just so cute in her little hula outfit that I thought, "Hey, I can make her into a lovey, too!"  And so, here she is.  She's supposed to be shorter than the other princesses, like Tinkerbell was, so when she comes up a couple rows shorter than your other princesses don't worry...she's supposed to be that way.

Head over to Bowtykes on Ravelry to purchase the base pattern (Thanks again, Briana!) and then pick your favorite princess!  And as always, stay tuned for new additions...

Here we go!

Villains Collection 1

So, after a ridiculously long time (mostly because I watch kids during the day and I can only work on things in 10 or 15 minute slots, as well as chasing my own 10 month old around)...I have finally completed the next collection for the Pretty Princess Lovey by Bowtykes.  Whew!

Several people requested that I work out some Villains to go with the Princesses I've posted before, so here we go.  I have more Villains in the works, but these were the most requested so I started there.  Oh, and did you know that the Wicked Queen from Snow White actually had a name?  I sure didn't...but Google it (I'm not crazy!).  Go over to Bowtykes on Ravelry and purchase the Pretty Princess Lovey pattern (it is the base of ALL of these lovies...without it these notes will NOT make sense) and then let 'er rip with my notes here.  Without further ado, may I present:

                        in same st

              back around, turn
            - Ch2, work 1hdc in ea st back around.  FO.

Arms - Make 2  This way of making the arms makes them into long breezy sleeves, not actually arms, and is the same type of arms that I put on Mulan in a previous post.  It made sense to me and I loved how they turned out but not everyone likes them.  If you prefer, make the arms as directed in the base pattern instead using the colors indicated here.
Instead of using arm pattern, make 2 long sleeve "tubes":
            - Ch 12, turn.
            - R1 - 2sc in 1st st, 1s in ea st across, 2sctog in last 2 sts.  Ch2, turn.
            - R2 - 2sctog, 1sc in ea st across, 2sc in last st, ch2, turn.
Continue alternating Row 1 and Row 2 until you have 13 rows.  FO.
Roll your work over until the last stitch of Row 13 meets the first st of Row 13, sl
st down the seam to make a tube.

Head - In Honeydew, work as written.  Embroider eyes as written between R11 and R12.

Hat - In Black
            - Make wig cap as written but finish with a picot in the last st
PICOT -- 1dc, ch2,1sc in top of the dc you just made, sl st into next st
            - FO.  Sew to head with the picot in the front, between but just above the eyes.

Horns - Make 2
